Unshakeable Security
Turn on the news, and you're confronted with global wars, economic instability, and natural disasters. On top of that sooner or later we all face uncertainties about our health, employment, relationships, and the future. Think for a moment about how quickly our circumstances can change. You can be enjoying great health then all of sudden an accident or disease can cause your health to fail. You can work for a company for years and without warning you can be laid off. You can be enjoying great relationships but all of a sudden, they can end.
The unpredictability of life highlights how little control we truly have over our earthly circumstances. The reality is that we build our lives on foundations that can change on a dime—financial markets can crash, health can fail, relationships can break. As we age, we realize that life itself is fleeting.
The ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus nailed it when he said, “the only constant in life is change”. In such a volatile world, we all eventually ask, where can I find a steadfast anchor of love and hope and this ever-changing world? Through the Apostle Paul God answers this question once and for all. The anchor we are looking for is found in the unchanging of love of God revealed in Christ.
Join us this Sunday as we study Romans 8:31-39 and learn that true security is not found in the passing things of this world but the steadfast love of God. Join this Sunday from 10-11:15 our new series called: “Rooted in Christ” – How Our Identity in Christ Helps Us to Live with Unshakeable Security
