The Choice: Spirit or Flesh
Have you ever wondered why it is so hard to obey Jesus? Have you ever been deeply disappointed with yourself after you said or did something that did not glorify God? You probably groaned and said to yourself, “I can’t believe I just did that.” You’re not alone. Daily all believers experience the tug of war between the Holy Spirit and their flesh for their hearts and the direction of their lives. Even the godliest of saints have struggled with this dilemma. When evangelist, D.L. Moody was asked what his greatest spiritual problem was, he replied, “The man I see in the mirror every morning.” Mr. Moody was acknowledging the reality that although true believers are “saved”, our salvation does “cancel out” our sinful desires.
