Stewardship:
It's about sowing, willingness & trusting God
Did you know that you can have all kinds of material blessings and still not be blessed? From a Biblical perspective the blessings of God cannot be fully enjoyed until they are shared with others. In 2 Corinthians the Apostle Paul calls us to view our material blessings like seeds. We may have them in abundance, but they don’t reach their full spiritual potential until they are sown, that is until they are shared with a grateful and generous heart.
Farmers know this. An abundance of seed does not guarantee an abundant harvest. A bountiful harvest requires thoughtful planning, generous sowing, and diligent follow through. Farmers trust that after they have done their part that an abundant harvest will follow.
God calls Christians to view themselves as ‘stewards’. A steward is someone who manages the resources entrusted into their care. Christian stewardship reminds that all our blessings have been graciously and generously entrusted to us by God. Like seed they must be sown, wisely, generously, and diligently so that we multiply God’s grace and generosity into the lives of others.
